Jeff Percacciante

Utica, New York
Jeff began practicing yoga in 2009 as a way to combat depression, fatigue, obesity and panic attacks. At 230 pounds, he bought a yoga mat/DVD combo and practiced it over and over again in his basement. Over time, with yoga, exercise, healthful eating and a lot of loving patience, the path to a healthier life began. He lost 60 pounds in a year, and knew that yoga was a path he wanted to explore.
In an uncharacteristically unplanned move, he signed up for the 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program at the Sadhana Center for Yoga and Meditation in Hudson, NY.The teacher training was led Raghunath and Sondra Loring, who would prove to be his greatest teachers. Raghunath taught the brilliance of devotion and mastery of the difficult, while Sondra illuminated the joy of movement and the fierce path to self acceptance. For an aspiring yogi from the suburbs of Upstate New York, this was a lot to take in. He was certified at the 200 hour level to teach in June of 2012. and continues to study with his beloved teachers to this day. He is currently completing two simultaneous 500 hour teacher training programs, one with Sondra exclusively, and another with Sondra and Raghunath. Every success he has ever experienced as a teacher and human being he offers to these beautiful souls.Jeff now teaches weekly vinyasa yoga classes in the Central New York area to practitioners of all levels. His classes are loved for their joy of movement, fierce challenge, intelligent sequencing and sense of humor. He leads retreats and workshops throughout the year, as well as classes for charity, benefits, weddings and much more. He also teaches private lessons. His goal as a teacher is to challenge your assumptions of your limitations. Through friendship, community, strong practice and a big heart, he hopes to share with you the deep transformation made possible through the study of yoga.
